RWA Rail was heavily involved with one of the bidders in the preparation of their bid for the new East Midlands franchise. This new franchise encompasses the current Midland Mainline franchise and the eastern part of the Central Trains franchise and is due to commence in November 2007. RWA Rail's contribution was on the operations side of the bid work and involved use of its large portfolio of railway planning software. Proposals for the new timetables were produced and developed using RailSys™. This was then used to model the timetables to provide performance information for use in the bid. The timetables were diagrammed in DISPO™ to produce rolling stock diagrams which were then input into TrainTRACS™ to produce train crew diagrams and figures for inclusion in the bid. Rosters were then produced. |
