This assignment requires performance modelling of an infrastructure scheme and corresponding (freight) timetable alterations. The scheme’s objective is to remove conflict that would be caused at Nuneaton by freight from the South Leicestershire Line crossing the WCML at grade to access the Trent Valley Down Slow. This study is required to model the effect on performance of the construction of the Nuneaton North Chord with three freight service frequencies provided. The scheme is of particular significance due to the anticipated increases in freight traffic on this route following gauge-enhancement.
